On the Radio” is coming along nicely.  This week we are adding choreography!

Students have chose their parts and should be preparing what they will be wearing. Remember keep costuming simple and inexpensive.  This is for fun – not a major production

We are continuing our work on  from Do Re Mi and My Favorite Things.

Remember Fridays are “Student’s Choice” where students are allowed to send  in appropriate selections for us to listen and sing along with on Fridays.  Song choices must be submitted by Thursday at noon.

Students are working on  A Million Dreams from the Greatest Showman and the Cups song

We will also have an in-house solo competition in February or March.  Each student has chosen a song to work on in preparation for this contest.  They have a copy to take home and are being given some class time to prepare is well..

These kiddos are really progressing at sight reading skills.  They amaze me.

Solo competition is this week.  We have Dr. Turner from Stephen F. Austin  coming in on Wednesday to critique in preparation for try-outs.   If your  child has made a commitment to this event, please make sure they honor it.  White Oak has paid a $20 entry fee and also is paying for the accompanist so it is important that they follow through with this.

All music should be memorized and polished. Students will not be able to have their music in front of them.  Meet at the school at 11:00 Saturday morning.

We have worked through Tonight, Tonight and I Feel Pretty from West Side Story.  These songs are now available on google classroom, so please spend time practicing. We will be adding new songs this week.
