We are continuing to evaluate for choir and study hall.  Please be patient as we plug these students into their spots.

Begin basic Sight Reading Skills

If your child desires to be in choir, please make sure they have a one inch binder, pencil pouch, and pencil/highlighter

 

7/8th Grade

Sightreading

Will learn the first five notes of the Sol Feg scale and add more if possible.  Work in groups to be secure with this scale

Start rhythm work. Review quarter/half/whole/eighth. Make flashcards and drill.  Play games to reinforce

Broadway Beat

Talk about Hairspray – show excerpt from Hairspray – You Cant Stop the Beat – begin learning song

Give My regards with Your’re a Grand Old Flag. Learn about composer George Cohan

Varsity Choir

Begin 90 Days of Sight Reading

Recognize Class Officers and Section Leaders

Assign Warm Up leaders for the following week

Collect Letourneau Money

Remember Varsity students – we will be traveling Saturday to LeTourneau  Meet in the Choir Room at 8:15. $25 for workshop and $10 for lunch. Bring your binder.  Wear your choir t-shirt!

Each day we will do one State Song this week.  Together as a choir

Begin sectionals next week

All Students should practice 10-30 minutes each day on music in preparation for LeTourneau Workshop.
