Middle School

7/8

We will continue to work on All-Region Try out music.  Try outs are Saturday, October 16 in Sulphur Springs.  I will be getting commitments this week for auditions.  I strongly encourage your student to try out.  They have worked very hard on this music and I think they will do great.  It is also a great experience to build on this audition as they eventually will have harder criteria in the years to come.

I will be asking for commitments this Friday, so please discuss this with your child.  The school will pay the audition fee, but if a student doesn’t show up, they must reimburse the school.

We will take a bus from school.  Students will just need money for lunch.  It will be an all-day event. I will give you exact times as they are given to me.

6th grade Choir

We are over half way with this 9 weeks and I am so pleased with their progress.  They are a great group and extremely talented. We hope to share with you the little “Heroes” program they have been working. on.  They also did a unit on 911 and I will share the video with parents as soon as I have copyright permission.

I am certainly enjoying this sweet group of students.

VARSITY/JV CHOIR

REMEMBER WE ARE SINGING AT THE HOMECOMING GAME SEPTEMBER 17.

Our choir shirts should be in and if you are not already in a uniform(like band or football) you will be wearing this shirt when we sing between 3rd and 4th quarter.  We will be singing God Bless America.

If you have not purchased your choir t-shirt, this is very important!  $15 cash or venmo michelle-stone -8 ($1 extra for each x on size)

The workshop we were hoping to attend in Paris has been cancelled because of Covid.  I am looking to see if there are other opportunities, but we may be on our own.  This means your commitment to practicing is even more important.

Remember your assignment each week is to have an additional 30 minutes of practice outside of class.  Some options are before school, 2nd enrichment/lunch 12:32 -1:00, or at home.  This is a grade and more importantly will make a big impact on you mastering this difficult music.

All Region auditions will be October 9 in Sulphur Springs.  Please plan on attending.

*Your all region music is all downloaded to your google classroom.  Please make sure you have access to this and are utilizing daily!
