January 4-7

Happy New Year/Welcome Back

6th Grade

We will be choosing a new musical to work on and reviewing some basic sol feg and note values.  We will also begin some basic sight reading skills.

7/8 Grade

Students will start preparing for MS Concert Sight reading contest in March.  We are also going to discuss doing a little musical for end of the year

Varsity

Varsity will  start prep for solo and ensemble contest as well as prep for Competition at Texas High in March.  All selections and entries are due January 4.  Competition is February 5 so we don’t have much time.  5 of our students will also be prepping for All State Tryouts!

December 13-17

It’s Performance Week!   Important info!  Remember 6th grade starts off in the choir room.  7/8 start off in their spots in auditorium.  Varsity will start in auditorium.

PRIORITY CHRISTMAS CONCERT DECEMBER 13 !  ALL DRESSED IN THEIR SPOTS AT 5:45!

6TH GRADERS

Make sure you have all your costume parts on and ready to go!  You will start off in the choir room!                                                       This week we will be working on adding excitement to your part.  Continue to go over your lines at home and contact me if you have any trouble with costuming.

Come in jeans and or red/green shirt or other designated costume.  Your props are here to put on.

Plan on staying for the whole concert!  You may bring treats to share on Tuesday.   We will celebrate!

7/8th grade

Please wear your choir t-shirts.  You may accent with Christmas accessories.  Please be in the auditorium in your assigned seats at 5:45.  You will watch the 6th grade, then take the stage for your part!

You may bring treats to share with the class on Tuesday.  We will celebrate your awesome performance

Varsity

You will need to be in your formal wear in your assigned seats at 5:45.  Make plans for dinner afterwards with the choir.  This is our tradition and we don’t want you to miss your!

This concert will count as a MAJOR TEST grade and your attendance is required.
